Crossflow, as I understand it, Inlet and outlet are in opposite diagional corners. The staggered orificesprevent the coolant from taking the path of least resistence, as it would with both inlet & outlet on the same side. Orifice side coolant flows fast, no orifice side coolant hardly flows. Direction doesnt mater, Water dont like to go the long way.
??? Did I answer that or confuse it???
You answered it... but my top / bottom flow has the inlet and outlet on oppisite sides as well.... (70 351... left side inlet, right side outlet)

Will this do the same thing?
Fer sure, left right makes no difference, the principal is the same.

Just FYI,a double pass, is set up with inlet & outlet on the same tank, BUT with a divider between them.So allthe coolant feeds through the first half of the rad to the opposite tank side, then recrosses the rad to the second half of the first side. Double pass.
Hehheh, Clear as Mud???

If you had no shroud that may have been it, but with a good fan if that 4 row can't cool your 347, then you need to get the radiator rodded out

i am having an overheating problem as well, i almost had to ditch in a parking lot to let it cool down. i do have the northern 4 row aluminum radiator and an electric fan, but a rebult oreilly auto parts water pump. i think the pump is a piece of junk. thinkin of ordering a flow kooler from summit for like $90 bucks. what do you guys think? oh i also already have water wetter in it.

what water pump are you using on the 347? also using a 185 stat(mr gasket) a 3 row rad and a standard flex fan with a shout will work great
if your using a electric fan what is the rating and is it an "S" blade fan..what is your timing set at? .. di you install your head gaskets right? did you perch you cooling system not need with a mr gasket stat

Ah, yeah, head gaskets, I forgot about that. If you put them in backwards you get overheating. As for the radiators, I'm running a 3 core copper style with a flex fan and shroud with a high volume water pump, and even sitting in traffic in Bakersfield when it's over 110 out I have no overheating problems.

I am buying this tomorow,,,, the used one I had picked out was a little too thick....

This on is only 3.5" thick and produces 3.600 CFM,,, that is a lot of air my friends.....

are you sure its not a 4 row copper that what most rads are. i have never seen a 4 row alum. im sure they could probably make one but your talking big bucks... the water pump wouldnt be a bad idea
