Default paint and rain

Okay My 66 has the original paint , which means the clear coat is long gone. The weather has taken a turn for the worse and has started raining. The hood still has the paint, just not the clear coat. I have to drive the car everyday so not driving it isnt an option. Should I get a can of clearcoat and spray it or what? Oh and I cant afford a paint job. Thanks in advance.

I think it will be fine, as long as bare metal isn't showing.

Hate to break it to you, but if your paint is original, it never had a clear coat

But yeah, if no metal is showing, don't worry.

What clear coat?

Anyway....just buff it...just make sure not to get it too hot and you should be able to get some shine back into it.
