Cost ??
You are going to kick yourself if you get a six and then want to get an eight. Go ahead and get a good V8. You will be happier in the long run. I lucked up on my two. The 390 is stout so now I want to get more horses out of the cleveland. It is strong and coupled with my fmx pretty tough. Right now I only drivemy 69once a week cause it needs body work and has no quarter windows, but when I get gas I always have stares and someone wanting to buy it, even with the body work it needs. Can't wait for the 67 to be done, it is going to kick lots of a$$.
Picture of my progress so far. I haven't kicked myself yet for getting a six cylinder.
I thought I might want a V8 but I've been learning about all that can be done to a I6 (mostly from www.classicinlines.com) and think that it would be interesting to stick with the I6 because it seems like most of the restoration projects that I hear about are V8s.

Everyone says that. Then you get hooked, and before you know it, you are buying stuff and making up projects to do (all while trying to convince your better half that the repairs are necessary). You will love it

Mine is far from a street beast, or show car. It is just "something I wanted to learn on" as well. You will be amazed at how much you can learn on these cars, and how that will only lead to digging deeper to learn more.
