Default HELP exhaust problem

I just put my new mufflers on but the old tailpipes wont fit right, im going to order new tail pipes or fabricate them later but for now would it be safe to put my turn downs at the end of the mufflers and have the exhaust dump right infront of my rear axel? or will the gas tank get to hot? ive heard of other people doing it but i just want to make sure its safe before i do it

IMO you wont have any issues, just don't sit in the car for long periods of time with the engine running while parked!

To me the only risk will be carbon monoxide, but I would place this risk in the very very low catagory... especially if your trunk closes up tight.

No problem (that's how we did it back in the good old days) extended idling will fill the cabin with CO so be carefull.
