Default shelby hood scoop position

I recently got a shelby hood scoop and just about have it prepped to put on my hood. I think I remember reading somewhere the end of it goes about two inches from the rear of the hood. Is this correct?

I saw in one of the mags the placement of theirs was about 1 1/2 to 2 inches from the back. Rmodel, the placement in the picture makes more sense for a functional scoop. Thanks for the dimensions on the racing stripes, I knew they were tapered, but I hadn't research that yet.

yea if you dont taper the stripes it will create an optical illusion on the mustang

Excellent, that info will come in handy. What's the problem with the fiberglass scoop on the metal hood? I have a bolt on one.
