I like the 302, But your car is bigger then mine. I think the 302 or the 351 work work good. I would put the 302 in if it was mine.

I don't know much about the 429s. I heard that they are very fast, but junk. I also heard that the 460 is a 429 with longer rods.

Exactly. What does a gallon of gas cost you today? If you are using your Mustang as a daily driver, are you concerned about gas prices? Of course you are. The big blocks will give you absolutely no more power at speeds you are going to encounter on a daily basis. Think about it. But, if you want to go like hell between lights, the small blocks will get you there faster.

I vote for a 460 (provided this isn't for a daily driver). Easy big horsepower and torque. And you don't have to spin the hell out of it to get it. Second choice is a standard 429, a Boss is way too pricy, if you could find one.

I hear you but I'm not so sure I can agree. Big blocks make a ton of torque at low rpms, like those you encounter on the street. The top 10 fastest old school musclecars
( http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/thehistoryof/75739/ ) were all big blocks. I happen to like small blocks but I wouldn't even try against something like a 70 396/375 Camaro "between the lights". Especially with the sticky tires that are available today. For a daily driver, no contest, these days you have to go with the cost effective power of a small block. But for a weekend warrior, I'll take the BB every time. Just the humble opinion of one old fart. Please feel free to beat me up if you wish!
