seriously overheating ignition switch wire

black/green wire off the center tap of the igniton switch is warm as he88ll/ extremely warm, everything seems to work ok but the heat off the wire is crazy as in melting the insulation,,try'd chasing the wire back to the fuse box/light switch ,, and can't fine anything wrong or shorted,, any idea's ? pulling 14.5 volts at battery,, volt regulator thing? to high a amp rating on the alt? ( (60amp)

You have a short somewhere.
That wire feeds a lot of stuff, the gauges through the constant voltage regulator, and the coil.
Do all the gauges work?
Go to the electrical section of the FAQs at the top of this forum and look over the wiring schematics.

everything works ok, best I can tell is that it hot's the the turn signal switch and then the main fuse block
