Ive always liked vintage burgandy. most likely becasue the 66 i had was that color. I think highlad green is a very nice color for mustangs. i got my car painted a maco and it looks perfect. not a thing wrong with it. no orange peel or flaws anywhere. ill have to post some pictures of it later. its pepper gray mettalic.

My friend had his 68 land cruiser painted at maaco. I think it was only the like $700 job, but it still looks pretty nice for what he paid. There are some problems on the hood however, but he said the paint came with like a 4 year warranty from any defects so he is gonna wait a couple years and then take it back. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me...

I had my old firebird painted at Maaco while I was in college. I was in the same boat. I didnt have a huge budget so I did all of the body work myself. I told them I wanted it final sanded and painted. When I went to pick it up the two tone along the bottom of the car was where it sould be on one end and about 2 inches over the body line on the other. I complained so they repainted. They didnt do a great job of sanding because I could see areas where there were old flakes etc through the new paint. With that said, the second time around, the paint looked pretty good. I cant say how long it would have lasted as an old dude ran a stop sign and I t-boned him about a month later. I would suggest, to save as much as you can and spend the money on a good job.
Good luck.

If you can, you should go in and try to kind of make small talk with the manager or someone about your car or something, and then explain that its your baby, and you really want a good paint job, but cant afford much, and hope you make an impression. If you do, they might put more time and effort in your car without charging you more. Also, they might take an interest since you are young (if I remember right from the 'this is me' thread).

Good luck, and look into the warranty they offer, cuz it seems like a good deal.
