Red also makes it more visible to everyone else so if you don't want someone pulling out in front of you
(like color matters these days with all the idiots holding cell phones)...according to insurance statistics, red is the safest color.

i believe that...very few people ever pull out infront of me and it seems like i get a lot of respect from most cars on the road. if i get to the stop sign the same time as someone else theyll usually wave me through even if they have the right of way. its pretty nice. the cops havnt bothered me once either.
