Default RPM's?

So, today I was driving up the interstate and I thought to myself "I wonder how many rpm's those guys pull on the interstate." My classic isn't running, so I'm interested to hear y'alls setup and ur rpm's, if you know...

I was in my 98Stang. Here's my setup and what I'm pulling in top gear(ALL very low rpms)

232ci, O/D auto 4speed, open 2.73's, and 275/40/17's
47mph ~1100rpm
67mph ~1750rpm
77mph ~1900rpm
83mph ~2000rpm
120mph~2600rpm

I expect my 67 to be much higher with 351W, standard c4, trac-loc 3.25's, 225/60/15's...Any estimates?

I'm running 3200-3300rpm @ 70mph, depending on tire pressure, with a 3.25 rear, 3sp toploader, and 24" tires.

There are plenty of rpm/mph calculators floating around the internet. Google is your friend

Wow, Starfury, I find that hard to believe that you are running so highin the rpms. I run a 351/4spd, not sure of the rear ratio but, I turn 2500 at what I believe is 65-70. (speedo don't work) but if I do 3k, I'm passing people and the limit is 65.

Short tires and 3.25's Run the numbers on a calculator and you'll come up with a hair over 70mph @ 3200.

It sounds high for cruising, but it's not bad when you consider that it's on the lower end of my power band, which is 2k-6200

OK, I'll take your word for it. Maybe I'm running 3.00 gears. I'll have to look at that this weekend now.....thanks.

3.00 gears, 25.6" tires and a 4 speed Toploader, does about 2,600rpm at 65mph.
