Probably a stupid question..
Was browsing summit's website today and came across a fuel cooler, that works just like a radiator. I was wondering if there would be any benefit of running one of these?
the concept of a fuel cooler is a good one. the colder the fuel the denser the mix and thus the more fuel air you can ad to a cyl. It is similar to the concept of a cool air intake. How practical they are is something all together different. The only one I have sean that seamed to work was a unit similar to pint jar it had fuel line coiled around the inside, was hollow and had a thermal coating on the outside. It mounted after the pump just before the carb. the idea was to fill the can with dry-ice any time you wanted some extra power (before a drag race) seamed to work, but had the down side of being short term.
I think that would work better for a injected car. The fuel rail and injectors are better insulated from the engine heat than a carb. The best thing you can do is run a heat shield or a non conductive spacer between the carb and the manifold.
