Default Junkyard parts..

I am heading down to the junkyard tomorrow with a friend of mine so he can grab a part for his Oldsmobile and while I'm there I am going to be looking for a T-5 out of a foxbody. I was also kind of curious what kind of electronic ignition system and out of what car would fit into my '65 Coupe? I remember an article abouttheideal carsto find inthem but I can't find it anymore. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Ideally you should be looking for a T-5 from a V8 Mustang

For the distributor, I believe you're probably referring to the Ford Duraspark distributor. It was used on a wide array of Ford models from the '80's through the early 90's. Be sure to grab the ignition control module (usually fender mounted) while you're there.

Good Luck!

Thanks dude, good lookin on the ignition control module. I was wondering, if I grab a T-5 out of a V8.. will I be able to use it with my 200I6 without many problems? The reason is because at some point I may be looking into doing an EFI 5.0 conversion (somewhere down the road.. awhile down) and I might as well buy the tranny now if it'll work with my I6. Thanks.

You need to find a T-5 from a 4 cylinder car not a V-8. It has better ratios for the I-6 and will bolt to your engine. The V-8 version won't work. There are tech articles on this swap out there.
For your electronic ignition look for1980 Fairmonts they have the 200 also. Grab the distributor and the module and all the wiring in between.
