Default Rear shock replacement on a 65 fastback

I am replacing the rear shocks on a 65 fastback. How do I get to the upper portion of the rear shock mounts? How do I get the rear seat out, or the fold down seat out of the way to get access to the upper mounts? Can't seem to figure it out.

Fold the seat down. There is aflat horizontal panel with carpet on it that will need to come out. It is held in by 2 screws. Once that panel is out you will see to rubber plugs that will need to come out. Then use a deep 9/16 socket.

+1 but my panel has 4 screws.
you may need someone to hold the shock underneath to turn off the top nuts and from memory i couldnt get a socket on the tops but that will depend on the shocks themselves. have an extension magnet handy for when you drop the nut back down the hole[8D]
