65 mustang carb problems??
what carb is it ? if it's a vacuum advance carb then it's the engines vacuum that pulls the other 2 barrels
if that's the case they should _NOT_ open when you rev it and look down. only under heavy load, which you can't produce when the car is standing

hey up-yours,
1. if it's a vac secondary the engine will suck them open. but we need carb details to say anything
2. if you have open vacuum ports on the carb, block them as otherwise the car will run like crap.

if you hook up vaccum advance to carb, you need to have to use the proper port for it.
if the car is in idle and you have vacuum there it's the wrong one
it should have no vacuum at idle and pull a bit when you rev and let go.
again we could give more details when we knew what carb you have.
But most vacuum advance don't need any hoses on outside to open tyhe secondaries.
if it's a double pumper, then they're opened mechanically with the rods connected to the throttle plate.
