Default Throttle linkage question

I just bought a new holley for the stang. The engine is in the shop getting rebuild so i cant throw the carb on top and mess around. How does the stock throttle linkage stay connected? I assume it just goes in one of the holes of the lever on the carb, but does it have a cotter pin or the like to keep it from coming loose?

The same swivel clip used to attach to Ford carbs will attach your Holley.

The clip is on the left:

Try the "Help!" section at autozone. Not sure if they'll have it, but worth a shot.

Only the clip in the far left of the diagram above connects at the carb end. The rest is to attach the rod to the pedal arm. It will not work in many Holley carbs as the hole does not provide sufficient clearance for the clip. If that is the case on your carb, drill a 1/16" hole in the rod so you can slip it into the hole in the carb linkage, slide a washer over the end of the rod, and install a cotter pin in the new hole you drilled.

They are a common item at auto parts, and and Mustang dealer will have them, Glazier's has hundreds.
