Well, in the last hour or so, I tore into *Gently unscrewed and pulled out* the gauge cluster and unscrewed the speedo cable. I noticed a few of the lights for the cluster were not in their holes. I took out the others to check and most didn't have lights in them.
Side note: I took this time to also Identify where a yellow wire that looked not original went... It was wired to the ignition and tracked to what I will assume is the fuel pump under the driver door. It wasn't attached to the pump, so I did so. When I turned the key it made a rapid clicking noise, but the overall feel of the car was no different
main point: I turned the key to the power position and started checking lights. The only light that seemed to work now is the brake light. No other light sockets would work.
5 minutes into this *The cars not on, just the key is in the power position* I noticed the fuel pump was still active so I undid the wire... I don't want to flood my carb.

BUT a bit of good news though... the dash harness seems unmolested for the most part *except for the fuel pump wire* so I'll only need to replace the headlight and brake light harness! *Really it's an I want to replace them thing*

I guess like 4reboy said, the fuses would be my next logical step... Just need to find where they are...

OH... and I looked at the steering column... I have no clue how to take it apart... it looked like one piece.

1) above the gas pedal.

2) on a 68? not likely. disconnect the rag joint. disconnect the column wiring. disconnect the column from the firewall. disconnect the column from the bottom of the dash. remove the assembly.

Again, I appreciate all the help!

for the turn signal switch I think you have to remove the steering wheel and from there you can take it out from inside the column, I'm not too sure though.

and yeah the fuses are on the firewall more above the parking break/where the clutch would be if you have one (at least on a 69 they are, i think it's the same for 68). You're probably going to have to get on your back and shine a flashlight in there, the turn signal fuse is one of the bigger ones, but be sure to check all of them in case you have other problems.

I found the fuse panel. They look good, they are still silver and connected. There is one however in the VERY middle that has no fuse in it....
