The reverse light and neutral safety switch wires?

Which if it is, I can understand cutting the safety switch but WHY THE REVERSE LIGHTS?!

40 year old wiring is brittle. depending on the life of the wire it might have just cracked the casing and then the wire rotted and cracked in half. Or it could have been cut lol.

I cant understand cutting either, but hey my 65 doesnt have back up lights.

But to answer your question yes those are the wires.

That's the wiring for the neutral safety switch. Somebody disconnected or removed the switch or the trans and cut the wires. Maybe the switch went bad and he was too cheap to replace it. At least he didn't cut on the other side of the plug.

lol ACTUALLY, that whole plug the four wires that connect to that prong are all cut, the neutral is spliced together but the other wires are just there not connected to anything, BUT the OTHER plug for the headlights are there....
