Default Trouble Starting

So I had it running the other day and it was running great.

Tonight its cranking but wont turn over.

Checked Plugs- they seem fine,
Any ideas? Also gas seems to be getting to the carb fine because it smells like gas...

Ideas?

it might not be getting spark due to a bad coil....remove boot place metal object above coil where boot fit and crank engine. lightning should reach out and grab the metal object....

It smells like gas because its flooding perhaps. Dirt has found its way into an inlet needed seat and now fuel is flowing unregulated into the carb.... remove air cleaner and look to see if fuel is leaking out onto the intake....however if this were the case it should run for a few seconds.

It did jump from the end of the coil wire to metal, so the coil is good.
Any other ideas?

well odd thing happened, pulled the plug to do a distributor to plug test so i had one wire off the plug, had my friend try to crank it and it started right up...
Reconnected the wire and it started right back up, so i guess it was just flooded?

perhaps....

What type of choke does it have...manual or automatic?

And once it was running did it run good? Did you warm it up?

Let it run for about 5 minutes seemed to run fine.

how much experience do you have with manual choke?

You might also want to check the accelerator pump look down the carb and open the throttle all the way (engine off) you should see jets of fuel squirt into the ventures
