Default radio question...

I'm finally filling in the blank spot where the radio once was...I measured it...it's 2 and 1/8ths tall and 7 and 1/8ths wide....will earlier or later radios work? what about cougars? did they have the same ones? We're not going for concours here, hell I'm not even going to hook it up. I just want a vintage radio stuffed in there for looks right now and I'll track down a really nice one later.

thanks a mill

67-up radios will fit the stock hole in the dash. Cougars had the same radios as Mustangs.

Yeah, but the stock 67 AM/FM was mono, if you want to keep stock appearance, use a dual voice coil speaker in the center dash, you'll get both channels, but you won't have to cut speaker holes anywhere.

Thanks for the info, I looked it up on mustangunlimited too. BUT I'm not about to pay $250 for one. A guy here had one plus a bunch of other parts for like $75 but it was vintage.

I don't even have my speakers hooked up, I dont htink anyway. the rear ones below the back window are just covers as well. no real anything below. they just look like it. so this is kinda just to make my car "look complete" for now....someday I'll pick up a really nice one but for now anything will do.

Used, vintage/in rough shape. when I look around locally, I'm thinking like 40 bucks? am I too low?
