reverse light help
Hi!
As you know, I recently found out that the Tranny in my car most likely isn't the one it came with... It's an FMX... being that, the shifter is not the original either.
the Neutral Safety switch is not connected to the shifter, and as well has been cut *Not really an Issue-I'm happy with it this way* as well the Previous owner also cut the reverse light wires.
Being that there is no wires connected to the shifter. Can one of you please explain to me how the reverse lights are supposed to be wired and how they work?... Are they wired to the Shifter? Plug in somewhere on the tranny?
Usually I can figure things out. But it wasn't wired when I got it so thus I have no clue how to put it back together being I wasn't able to see how it was before it was taken off.
Thanks as always!

If the car is a 68, it couldn't have come with the FMX. However, a stock 68 shifter would work with it.

Hmmm… On factory-installed FMX cars, the NS switch was IN the shifter. This would be a slight problem, since the 69-73 shifter was larger than the 64-68 shifter.

The NS switch had a wiring harness attached, which connected to a multi-plug on the car. If these were cut off the switch, you'll have to replace them.

Well, what shifter do you have, and is there an NS switch in it?
