Default 302 heads

Does anyone know the best heads for a 302... All they all the same or good ones/bad ones... I would prefer to stay stock with the heads...

Huh?

Best heads for what? Where do you want to make your power?

You can get very good gains by porting, or even just exhaust port-matching the stock heads.

Iron GT40 heads are very stock, although they bear modern numbers, and are a virtually bolt-on upgrade.

Need more information. What are your goals for the motor? Stock bottom end? What kind of cam are you running, or planning on running? How much money are you looking to spend?

It is a 302 from a 68 i think... im not sure... im not looking to spend a lot of money on heads... The type of cam would be a stock cam and maybe a little mild... Are all 302 cast iron heads the same? Any stock heads to stay away from? Sorry about the confussion... i have a 65 which i know ford didnt make 302s back then...

I bought the top end kit from Summit Racing. It came with a cam, Edlebrock Air Gap intake, Aluminum Performer RPM Heads and all the bolts and gaskets that I needed to put it all together.

I guess what they are trying to ask you is what is your goal? Is it for racing only? Daily driver? Weekend driver / road racing?

You need to get everything that kinda matches / complements each other. If you have a mild cam but have some $2k heads, you're not going to get all the power out of the heads or a restictive exhaust and so on....

Look for a kit unless you know what numbers, parts and such you're looking for. I really didn't know what I was looking for and a lot of members here recommended a good top end kit.

I'm very happy with my set up and I use it as a daily driver with lots of powa.
