yeah, so far it has run great without problems. (knock on wood) I drove it from northen gerorgia to about central florida which is about 550 miles without a problem. I performed a compression test and got 165-170 through the cylinders. I did notice a little blue smoke out the tailpipes when i put and exhaust on. I took the valve covers off and evrything looked clean. The was no sludge or anything. I am going to change the oil to high mileage oil soon and see if that does anything since it is thicker oil. the radiatior fluid and oil was changed before my drive home, so it was good to see the color of the radiator fluid was still bright green. It told me there was no rust through the channels, and also it didn't overheat so that confirmed the channels were clean and not blocked. I think i found a good project car for 2700. The engine alone seems to be decent, and i am really happy it has a toploader tranny.

Don't feel too bad if it takes a while to get it done. They usually do.

Thats cool that it has a toploader.

got some pictures.

I have the front end mounted up, and have the cowl hood 98% completed lol when i had everything off the car, i went ahead and painted the front their, but i accidently sprayed it too thick on the right side and got a few runs, and i forgot to wipe the top part down with degreaser, so i didn't get good adhesion there, i will sand it down to bare metal, prime it and paint it when i do my door jambs, trunk, and under the hood.
When i go to have my car painted i will have them check the cowl hood for any high or low spots that i missed and have them fix it. also the fitment on the front valence isn't nearly perfect at all. it took some modifying to get it to fit.Below the headlights, on the front there was a mounting flange that stuck up behind the headlights. so when you would try and put the top piece on, there would be a 1/2 inch gap. so i cut the flange off and i will have the body man clean it up a little. also on the sides, it doesn't follow the curve of the fender perfectly, it sticks out in 1 place on both sides about 1/8 of an inch. should be fixable.

I have a question that i am wondering. I am going to have the car painted soon, and i will strip the paint down to bare metal, there is only about two dents that aren't fixed and some panels need a little aligning. I will paint the engine bay, trunk, and door jams, but what do you guys think it would cost to have the car sprayed in single stage black with minimal body work.

don't let cars go before school. You need a job to pay for the cars lol. good luck with the deal if you buy it.

i was planning on paying no more than 1500 considering the amount of body work i would do.
