Backup LIghts
so the n.s.s. would need to be bypassed somehow or turned into a clutch pedal switch like modern cars.
found this pic of the connector for the back up lights at the firewall maybe it will help you get started. a little different than my 70's single plug. looks like it is 2 separate plugs for n.s.s. and back up lights if you car runs one of these have been bypassed. if you jump the 2 pins on other one with your key on your back up lights in theory should illuminate.

There is no need to bypass his C4 NS switch. Since he removed the trans, it's on the garage floor, on the side of the trans. He will need to bypass the connectors, which is why I pointed out how Ford did it. He could do this himself in about two minutes.
Speaking of which, the NS on later manual cars was on the TRANS, not the pedal. Which means his T5 has a NS switch on it, if he cares to hook it up. That might take a whole half hour, mostly from crawling under the car to connect it.
maybe this will help if you are still having problems. says it is for a 66 but it shouldn't be that much different. if you jump the plug and nothing else is wrong the back-up lights should illuminate. if they do you just need to connect the wires at the plug to the trannys back-up light switch. easy way is to get the connector from a 5 speed fox body.
if they dont work after jumping the plug you will have to find where the power is being lost. blown fuse, bad bulbs, bad grounds, broken wire or wires, loose connections, or corrosion at the connections. good luck.

thanks, I gonna have to trace where the problem is coming from because I jumped those to terminals and got nothing so, I'm gonna see if I can print out that electrical diagram and trace the problem
