Default Keeps running

I took the Mach 1 down from the lift today, and started her up. I moved her down to the end of the driveway so I could do some vehicle manuvering. After I was finished I went to put the Mach 1 away and when I turned the igniton switch to off, the engine kept running. I pulled the coil wire to the distributor in order to shut the engine off. I then tried the ingition switch to see if it still worked. It worked when I tried to turn over the starter motor. Before I start tearing her apart i was wondering if anyone had an idea where to start. (In order to expidite the troubleshooting). Ignition switch? Starter relay?Corroded ground out connection from the switch? I drive the Mach 1 rarely these days (winter) so wire connections are always suspect. Thanks.

I have a quick question... How did you pull the coil wire and not get shocked?

Don't grab too close to the coil.

Typically, the solenoid sticks, but in such cases the starter stays engaged, too.

Insulated channel locks....trust me, I was well aware of the chances of being jolted. And by the coil wire I mean the plug wire that feeds the distributor.
