Default Transmission mount replacement questions

I have a few question above replacing the transmission mount on my 65. I have the basic idea down, i.e. undo bolts on cross member to transmission, support transmission, raise trans, remove cross member, unbolt mount from transmission and then put back together. My question is were is the best place to support the transmission?

Cheers

How about supporting the trans tailshaft, loosening the mount bolts, raising the trans, and replacing the mount without removing the crossmember?

I take it that is the position before the U-joint to drive shaft? will that effect the rear trans seals and also will that effect the shifter and consule? Sorry, I just like to double check stuff to make sure I am doing it right or at least less wrong!!

It should have no effect on the seals. The shifter should allow an inch or two vertical movement. The console should not be effected in any way.
