ya :-) they arrived on Tuesday, but can't put them in yet. looked under the car and the flowmasters are a weld job. so i have to cut them out. don't think I have the fasteners I'd need to put the new ones in. Probably driving over to my buddy. if the pit is free I'll check my options

flowmasters are welded in alright. they used 2.25" piping, but 2.5" boxes. opened the pipe where it's attached and buttwelded. overall length of the new ones is the very same (different box length) but if I cut and weld the exhaust pipe will be too large unless I open up the mufflerside as well. kinda annoying.
Thionking about getting stainless piping and re-do or get some of those:

it will be a while .. that's for sure :-(

That pic looks just like my mufflers. I used clamps like that before. It works ok. I still have my tail pipes clamped to the back of the mufflers. They are welded on the front side. Cant you just add a small peice of pipe to the front side of the muffler, or just move the tail pipes forward if they clear the rear end.

just the stupid time. i was out for the last few weekends. in 2 weekends there's the biggest show for this year in Ireland so I'll be spending next weekend help repairing buddies cars. there's 3 that need to get back on the road. one of them a 72 Cuda where we had the engine out. we expect the crank this weekend. my buddies welder is up the fritz as well.
Anyway I fell like a dumbass with two new boxes in the trunk that won't find their way in ... :-(

That sucks that you haven't been able to do it yet. Too bad the welder is messing up. Its cool that you guys are working on a Cuda though.
