Default A/C unit

Does this A/C unit look complete?

The guy says it works, and it's for a 64-66.

He says it works for both V8 and six cylinder.

Is this true, or is he pulling my chain?

Thanks!

The RH side cover and drain are missing from the evaporator, The mounting brackets are missing from the condenser, and all of the lines and hoses, and pulleys, brackets, and compressor are missing.

It's true, though, the parts you have are the same for 6 or 8 cylinder.

Is it hard/expensive to find all those missing parts?

The guy wants $300 for this unit, and he guarantees it works.

I appreciate your help..thanks.

Everything that's missing is available. As for "works", you can only verify that the blower fan in the under dash unit runs, unless you install them as part of a system. I have used many used under dash units with no problem, including the one in my car for the last 40 years. The condenser may be OK, too. The receiver/dryer is junk, it has been exposed to the air (no plugs in photo) and the dessicant is now trashed. $300 for a working under dash unit is a good deal, if in good condition. Photo is kinda small to check the chrome, but it looks OK in the teeny photo. You'll need new registers, of course.

The hoses attached may well be useable, too, but I don't know what engine they are for, or which you have.

In case it matters to you, that is a 1965 unit. The 1966 units had the black "camera" texture on the front panel, instead of the silver of that unit. There should also be a date stamp on the fan housing

True, and it was more than just a cosmetic change, the 64-65 unit was offset slightly to the right, while the 66 was centered.
