Default Found my frame...

So I know im new here and I am starting a big project. But I did locate my frame on which im going to build my Eleanor....as my close friend says lol, i know i probably wont be able to do that.... I am going to go with the 302 instead of my 351 Cleveland. I do not know these smaller manual transmissions as well as I do my Ford 84 6.9l Turbo Diesel. What would you guys recommend for a 5 spd manual transmission. I know you guys have some knowledge that your willing to share which is awesome. I have a lot to learn about these cars...

The "World Class" T5 5-speed is a common conversion, and can be done entirely with "off the shelf" original and conversion parts.

Be aware that even "world class" T5's came in a 265 and a 300+ ft lb rated version. It all depends on the first gear ratio. For more reference:

Once you cross the 300 foot pounds line you gotta baby it or bite the bullet and get a tko or t56 if you want a 6 speed. You're wallet is the only limit to what you can do to a early mustang. If you need help with parts or ideas just ask.One site to look at mustangstofear.com For l.e.d. tail lights or anything l.e.d. http://www.mustangproject.com/
