here is what i did so far, just wanted to free up the rocker section, i dont want to cut too much to keep the car as stable as possible.

im gonna work my way to the front torque box today and perhaps tomorrow get to the rear as your picture shows. i dont have a plasma cutter so **** knows how im gonna get in there.....

Sound good! I hear it best to separate the box. Don't think you'll need a torch if you have a small cut wheel or take some of that belt thingy off. I need a patch on this any way. And should have cut it. I have not seen a replacement for this so I wanted to minimize damage. But it may be best to cut a little. The welds are easy access except the weld in the corner nearest the quarter. This should be easy when given extra room. I'll find out on the other side. Looking good on your part. I plan to use a one piece floor pan. Can't say about lap welds but the are strong and just need sealer on them.

A cutoff wheel and air chisel could do the whole job.

Sure. I've seen it done when people were on a budget, and wanted a solid fun car, rather than hard-core show.

Not really. I've seen cars where the torque boxes were solid, the rockers shot. I cut away the rockers, did a small section, slid in the new rocker, and resectioned the torque box.

2+2 have you done a partial inner rocker? My other side looks better than my left. I thought about it but don't know how I would feel with an unwelded joint between the rocker. Would a innersplice work?

I think I would be ok with separating the patch and layer it inside then top! Is that acceptable?
