Default Mustang II suspension swap - 1967 Mustang

I bought and installed the Speedway Mustang II crossmember for the 67-68 Mustang.

I am now in the process of buying the rest of the parts needed, and am drowning in the amount of different configurations available for this swap...

Upper A-arms:

I am buying tubular uppers, but there are a few different options as far as Stock width, and Narrowed 5/8", Narrowed 7/8"....which one would be best?

Spindles:

Do I get the stock height ones, or the 2" drop spindles?

Hmmm… I think this means your audience has reacted with a) not being familiar with the specific parts you mention, and b) thinks this is a heckova lot of work and money to spend on what will be a marginal improvement in handling. Or were you making room for a very large engine? Replacing the structural strength lost by the removal of the towers and cowl braces is the hardest part of the Mustang II conversion.

About the only thing I can offer is the 2" drop spindles had better mean you drive the car only on exceptionally smooth roads. Around here they would be a death sentence for your oil pan.

Most M2 setups require a 2" drop spindle or they look like old school gassers. The 2" drop puts the car at about the same height as a stock Mustang front end. Without the dropped spindles you'll have to cut the springs or use weak springs and won't have much travel (unless you want your front end up in the air).

I don't know anything about different width on a-arms. I used Heidts and it comes with a set.

Thank you guys!

I will order the MustangII spindles in a 2" drop, and I'll try the stock width A-arms.

If they need to be narrowed to run a wider tire, I guess I'll just sell the stock width ones, and buy the narrowed ones.
