O.k., I searched ebay and I'm positive these are the hood pins I went with:

The down side is that it looks like they have gone up in price. I thought I had paid around $40 for them but that was awhile ago.

Thanks very much. The price is great. I found several that looked exactly like these last night and one was over $200. The Shelby ones were $144 or $114. Anyone looking needs to check these out. I wanted billet, anyway. I have already ordered a pair. $72 with shipping. I do have another question. I looked at several different threads last night as to where they go on a 65. The simplest thing was to remove the hood bumpers in the front and install them there. I do not understand what your hood would rest on if you remove these. I SURE do not want it resting on my car. Any idea where they should be installed? Also, even though this is probably a stupid rookie question, have you ever found a way to not ruin your carpet when you use a drill or a screw? Pre-cutting a hole does not seem to work. Thanks again for everything.

Yes, most do put the pins where the hood bumpers go and then the hood would just rest on the 4 bumpers that are located on the edges of the fenders. However, I did mine differently and placed them on the radiator support. I have seen both methods used so it is up to you on what to do. Here is a pic for reference:

As for the carpet, I have found the best way for me is to punch a hole in it and then hand screw the screw through.

Cut a small "x" in the carpet, insert a short piece of tubing, then place the drill inside the tubing.

Thanks. What a clean engine compartment. Did you fabricate the polished aluminum ( I guess) parts? Looks very nice. I have Maier Racing SFC's and X-member but I hope I can find a brace for my towers after I install my EFI engine. Do you think the radiator brace will hold without reinforcing it? Mine is a little flimsy.
