pcv valve elbow question
So I need a 90 degree elbow for my pcv valve and went to rockauto.com to find one. I bought the only one listed pictured below but not sure how to set it up. It just slides over the end of the pcv valve once it's in the grommet. The other end though is the same diameter as my hose is and so it wont attach. How do I set this up properly (first pic)? They also have the pcv valves with the elbow built in but they have two outlets. The top one looks like it would fit my hose, but the other one looks like it is too big. What would you do with that second outlet (other pic)?
Why not use a short piece of hose off the 90* (in the first picture) to the straight PVC valve? The one in the second picture is kind of a universal, and in your case you will need to plug the small hole with the supplied plug. This is the one that most auto parts stores sale as a replacment but is not even close in looks as the original. It will work the same provided the small hole is plugged.
Instead of a rubber hose, use 3/8" hard line and make your needed bends with a tube bender. My PCV hose would get very warm and collapse from the vacuum, so I resolved it by putting in a hard line and only use short pieces of hose to connect each end. It makes a 90 from the top of the PCV, then runs aprox 8 ", and makes another 90 to the right to connect to manifold vacuum at the base of the carb.

The first elbow shown is for the front breather on the drivers side to connect the breather to the air cleaner if your car is equiped that way. It is not used to connect the PCV valve to the base of the carburetor. It sounds like you need the correct prebent rubber hose and the correct PVC and you should have to working. http://www.cjponyparts.com/PCV-CARBU...4-1968/p/PCVH/
