Question 428 CJ

Can a 428 CJ engine be installed into the engine compartment of a 1969 Mach 1 with the exhaust manifold bolted on ?

dont know if this will help you at all we just put one in for a 70 mach 1 a customers car and it was a tight fit he had long tube headers and they had to be in the car and bolted onto the motor befor it was fully dropped in it was a real pain not sure if thats what you were lookin for but good luck!

That's how it should be done. That's how Ford did it. That's how I've done it.

In fact, Ford installed the engine, trans, H-pipe, and trans crossmember all as one piece. Even the mighty BOSS 429 was installed that way.
