Head was not warped nor did any of the heads have pressure leaks and all valves were vacum tested and passed with flying colors. I changed all the valves 5nyears ago.

It's all done now, they just shaved a hair off to clean them up.

Anyway I have a lot to clean up and hope both in the engine and on the floor so I'll be putting her all back together on Friday. Tomorrow is dedicated to cleaning up. Any tips on cleaning the coolant out of the block?

I'll take better photos tomorrow, it got dark by the time I got home. Yea heads were cleaned out before they were worked on. Brand spankin new.

Last time I did head gaskets I used a little a little silicone beading around water passages, this time I'm putting the gasket on dry. Putting silicone defeats the purpose of having the heads ported.

.
your temp gauge is reading at least 10 degrees too low.

since it looks like you have oil in number 7 i would have pulled the valves in the head in that cylinder hand looked at the seals and checked to see if the valves were looser in the guides than they should be for some reason . . i see no reason to go to this much effort and not check everything just as i suggested, especially when there are now two obvious problems.

also, i happened to have been a head rebuilder and i can tell you that a pressure test might not always catch a leak . . sometimes the crack will be closed when cold but will open enough to leak when the engine is hot . . i have seen it before.

you also did not answer the question about the head gasket so no way to determine the cause of the problem.

also, i already told you what to do with the gummy antifreeze in a previous post.

do not use silicone on the head gasket.

you must use silicone on the water ports in the intake and head.
.

ok so everything seems fine, engine started for 30 min no knocking no bubbling etc...

Just as I was about to switch it off as its 10 pm, it shut off. Went to start and it wouldn't. I am not sure if im out of gas or if gas is not coming to the carb. Tried few times and got nothing. Took off spark number one, dry and doesn't smell of gas. Checked fuel line to carb and it was dry, didn't leak. Tried the crank engine with fuel line off and no gas came out. Isn't gas supposed to come out when cranked?
