I installed the classic auto air setup in mine and it worked fine most of the time. Hot days would tax the system. You'll find out real fast how well insulated that car is once the AC up and running. I had 35 blowing out of the vents but was still hot. That led to me ripping out the interior and laying down Dynamat everywhere I possibly could and that was the ticket.
Unlike yours, mine was a factory AC car so that helped considerably and reduced the cost by quite a bit I'm sure. I wound up going through the original setup completely and got all of the factory vacuum controls working properly. I guess I had around $1500 in it by the time the smoke cleared.

check the sites below. you may also need a better cooling system. the aftermarket units have a box that occupies part of the front passenger floor which isn't great if you need the space. a stock system would cost around $4,000.00 or more installed. it is an extremely unpleasant job
