Default Vintage Air problems

Hey guys looking for a solution to a problem I have on my 67 Fastback. Got a new Gen 4 system and installed everything ok, pulled a vacuum on the system and than tried to charge it with r134a.Took 1 can and that's all ,the pressure is the same on the high and low side. Looks like the expansion valve is stuck open, tapped on it than banged on it and still stuck open. The valve is on the inside of the car on the evaporator. Any body have a solution that doesn't require me to pull the evaporator out of the car? Fergybikes

High/Low is the same with the car running and system "on" or system "off"? System off, both sides will eventually be the same. What pressure are you seeing?

With the system on, the clutch on the AC is spinning?

Not so, the high side should be twice the ambient temp plus 10-20% or in my hood 180-200 lbs,and the low side 15-20 lbs .What I have now is 110 lbs on both sides ,and very little cooling. Ever where I've checked said same thing ,exp. valve is stuck open. Fergybikes

WIth the AC system OFF both sides will be the same. System ON, yes, there will be a pressure differential. The exact amount depends on the ambient temp, state of system charge, and condition of the AC system.

110 psi on both sides with the system ON could be a stuck valve.

They agreed its a stuck valve and that's the end of their support ,which kinda sucks.
