What to do with an Inline 6
go to www.fordsix.com They have all different types of performance parts for the 6 banger engines. get a set of headers and a new cam. that should give you that extra kick. I went to other route and droped a 302 in instead. but thats a lot more work and money.
I went from a 3 speed to a T5 5-speed, and it made a huge difference. Turned a toad into a princess. Best bang for the buck out there.
Adapter plate for the bell housing, '67 T.O. bearing, cross member, rework stock drive shaft, used V6 T5 and your in for about $800.00, maybe less if you're a good scrounger. Add a short days labor, and you're set.
Other than an open element air cleaner and maybe an electronic distributor module with stock coil, I'd be hard pressed to spend any money on a 200. Just not enough potential in a street driver to make it worth it.
YMMV,
