Default conv top won't go dwon

just bought a 1995 mustang conv. with no owners manual. There is a button on the console that I thought was for the top. It is a red light when on. It doesn't put the top down. Can anybody tell me what it is for?

How does the top go down?

How does the top go down?
The procedure should be similar to that for my 94. The engine has to be running, the hand brake has to be set. If the car is an automatic, it has to be in Park. Lower the windows and unlatch the top at the left and right ends of the header rail. There is a rocker switch on the console to the left of the rubber hand brake gaiter. If you have two switches there, it should be the rearward of the two. Rock the switch toward the driver's side. That should start the top down. Once the header rail is seaparated from the windscreen a bit, close the locking latches and drop the top the rest of the way. Raising the top is the reverse of putting it down.
