I am a convertible top guy.

Usually if a top becomes misaligned after it was correctly aligned, a top tech would look at the hinges(the joints which fold like your elbow when the top goes up and down) and see if one of the hinge pins is coming out or missing.

Don't try to take the top off and reinstall it. Not fun!

When i put my top down all the way, one side sits higher than the other.

I've heard its not that hard to install one, if you buy the tops with the installation kit/video. but if its your only car, i wouldn't do it cuz it might take a few days and a few beers and some stress

hd, crusin92 is right. The replacement isn't rocket science. The frustrating part is, after stapling the new top onto the rear bar and then bolting it into place, finding that you stapled too much top, or not enough and then taking it all apart several times until you guess right. We have a few tricks up our sleeve, but still can't do a 'Stang in the labor time always that the book says it should take.

I think something has changed on your top. It could be in the front clamp(the ones that hook down the top to the windshield), hydraulic cylinder(it's not uncommon for them to start leaking or break at the mounting brackets), or maybe like I said the hinge pins(this is very common).

Keep in mind also, very few convertibles always are in perfect alignment. Even brand new. They frequently are slightly mis aligned.
