probably a stupid question....
I want to know if this is true or not. I am afraid to wax my car due to the stripes I have on it. They aren't painted. I have heard from some people that if I were to wax my car and did not avoid the stripes it could bleach them. I dont' believe it is true, but I want to make sure before I try to do so. Also, if what I have heard is not true, what are some good waxes that will give my car an excellent shine.
Not sure about the stripes situation...
as for the waxes... i know first hand that meguiars nxt gen. tech wax is very good... but dont just wax...do all other steps before, your finished product will look much better!

I already do everything, just not wax. I've been using that Turtle Wax Ice stuff for a bit of a shine and that helps a lot, but I still want to wax it for that added protection.
I don't know of any waxes that would "bleach" stripes. I suppose the harsher abrasives could scratch the vinyl, but I doubt anything will bleach them. Silver looks best with a sealant rather than a carnauba wax. Sealants tend to be a bit more clear and really let the metal flake pop out of the finish while giving nice shine and protection.
Ok. Thanks for the info. Bleach was one of the symptoms. I was at a car show yesterday showing off my baby and walke up to a stand that sold some different products. He said his stuff wouldn't do anything to the striping becuase it didn't have any fillers that would damage them. But he didn't know about others because "he could only gaurantee his" lol.
