finding a 8.8 out of a truck would be cheaper and better as it's for a 31 spline alxes or you can swap side gears

don't waste your time or money on a 7.5 rear, look for a used 8.8 or even better, a 9" ford rear which is the strongest.

he will never need a 9"...and it would only make things more complicated trying to put a 9" in it...im sure he'd have to do some fabricating, as an 8.8 out of the same year stang would bolt in

I got a 98 with a too High a Gear, found a 85 7.5 with a 3:73 limited slip off a Mustang GT back when they were putting on 7.5 rears with 4 lugs and Drum Brakes, Will my 5 Lug axles and Disk Brakes off my 98 7.5 fit the 85 7.5 Rear? If so I will put the whole Rear End under my 98 if it will fit? Thanks, Scuzzy

I personally wouldn't even bother with the 7.5. There are a ton of used 8.8's that will bolt right in and offer a much stronger rearend.

Also, it's bad form to bring up old threads this way. Start a new thread with any questions you have. We've all done it once...........ONCE !!! lol
