Auto Trans is DRIVING ME CRAZY

Auto Trans is DRIVING ME CRAZY
I have a fickle 94 GT 5.0 Convertible with only 55k on the clock. At ONLY 18k miles the whole tranny needed a rebuild (no, I wasn't neutral dropping it). Apparently what happened was the sprague came loose and went through the tranny. I had the whole thing rebuilt from the torque converter back. Since then, I had another problem at around 30k miles where the trans would come out of gear on the highway going 60mph. I took it back to the shop (nice reputable shop, trustworthy) and they found it was a switch on the transmission that once hot could cause it to slip out of gear. That fixed worked. But now, at 55k miles, I am pulling my hair out because the darn mushbox transmission is doing more things it probably shouldnt. Its slipping when light acceleration is applied to maintain speed. Its not so much a grinding as it is a slipping vibration which can be felt through the floor of the car. Once you take your foot off the accelerator and reapply it goes away. But its obviously annoying and not supposed to happen. This new slip doesnt occur during shifts, only during light accelaration while maintaining speed on the highway. Any ideas? Please? Anyone? The damn thing got rebuilt once already and its only got 55k miles on it! I baby it!
Plus there is a little shudder when accelerating at low rpms, presumably because of torque build-up, is it likely to be bad u-joints?
Thanks to ANYONE who can offer some good advice-

That shudder happens in our 01 Expedition... I haven't been able to figure out the cause, I figured maybe something was wrong with the torque converter... I don't have the faintest clue though, but this seems to happen to a few Ford automatics... Time to swap the mushy auto out for a T-56

RE: Auto Trans is DRIVING ME CRAZY
Most auto trans problems are heat realated. Get your some some high quality fluid and upgrade to a nice trans cooler. This may not fix the problem (but it might) but once it is fixed it will keep you out of trouble in the future.
