I have Hawk slotted rotors and pads... No problems or complaints... I am not sure that you can do all that much better without upgrading the whole breaking system.

If you do not like brakedust get Hawk ceramic pads.If you want something less expensive go with Hawk HP pads. There will be a bit of brakedust with the HP pads.Good value, however.

I would assume that slotted/drilled rotors can be machined...they had to be machined during the manufacture process.

nah you have to be able to cut drilled rotors.... theres no big difference. but i only got the slotted ones anyway because im not about to have my rotors crack at the holes!!. although i do like the design of the drilled/ slotted rotors where the drills are separated enough to reduce cracking.
