Default AFR heads with Speed-Pro pistons

hey guys i have a 302 bored .020 and i have these pistons in there:

TRW-L2488F Speed-Pro

Deck height: 8.206 in. Deck clearance: 0.003 in. Skirt clearance: 0.0018 in. Weight: 597g. Approximate compression ratios: 10.51:1 with 54.5cc, 9.99:1 with 58.2cc, 9.72:1 with 60.4cc, 9.41:1 with 63cc

I want to get AFR heads and these are the ones im thinking about getting, but i hear that the pistons need to be notched???? does anyone know if my pistons have to be notched?

AFR# 1388 - 185cc Street/Strip Heads, Stud, 58cc (NON-Emissions) OR
AFR# 1387 - 185cc Street/Strip Heads, Stud, 61cc (NON-Emissions)

2.020 intake valves, 1.600” exhaust valves, combustion chamber volumes of 58cc or 61cc, and 69cc exhaust ports, AFR’s new 185cc Ford head is designed for 302-351 cid engines operating from 1500 rpm to 6500 rpm. A 3/4” thick head deck makes the AFR head ideal for nitrous or blower applications. Will not accept rail rocker arms. Hardened pushrods required with heads #1420 and #1422. High flow 2.020 valves might require aftermarket pistons notched for valve clearance.
Note: Late-Model Ford 302 engines must have stock pistons notched for clearance.

I actually I have a 94 cobra with AFR 185s and a trick flow stage 2 cam with 1.7 roller rockers and I didn’t have to notch anything . The total lift was 575 with that cam and rocker ratio. How ever to be safe I would clay it when you are putting it together. Also make sure that you take the head to a machine shop so they can install spring cup that keeps the springs from digging in to the soft aluminum and changing spring install height

Any more questions fell free to Pm me

Anybody running aluminum heads w/o spring cups should be shot. (At least made fun of)

If yours came with them you are lucky, The last 100 sets that I have delt with didn’t come with them so now it is standard practice for me to have them installed before installing them on a customers car. How ever on a side note when you buy direct they don’t come with them.
