STICKER SHOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went shopping for tires yesterday and did my mouth hit the floor! $100+ for a car tire. I just want an everyday driving tire and sure didn't expect to pay that much.

I paid $100 for 2 for my Honda Accord. I came to realize that the tire size for the GT is for Cameros as well.

How good are the Daytona tires? I really don't want to spend $100 per tire but don't want cheap quality ones either. Any other suggestions!

Damn! After shopping around, I guess I wasn't being realistic was I? I didn't realize what I was getting myself into when purchasing a 'stang. Everybody sells their tires at least $120 - $130+.

Are Daytons any good?

i have Kumohs Ecstas on mine 275 in back and 255 in front, they have excellent traction, i need to purchase a new set of them as well, i think they are 111 a piece on www.tirerack.com that is the cheapest i have found, but seriously how much did you think a 10 inch wide tire was gonna cost?

Yeah, don't even look at the 18" tires. I wanted 18" wheels bad, but the cost compared to 275's in 17's was not very good IMO.

I sell tires for a living so I might be able to get some kind of input in for you. First tell me what year you have, do you want performance tires or do you want daily driver tires on a Mustang I recommend H for 4-6 cyl and for 8 cyl I recommend v or Z ZR tires if you want michelin tires your going to be paying money for them put the best tires on the driving axel mustang is rear wheel so you want the new tires on the rear and the older tires on the front also get your alignment checked and suspension parts checked cus you dont want to blow money on new tires if they are just going to get ruined. Do you want the rear wider then the front if you do that you can not rotate the tires and rotating is a life keeper on tires

Cheap quality tires I would reccomend putting what I have on my car. Sumitomo HTR+ they have a treadwear of 400 and a 40,000 mile warranty, They are ZR rated and all season on tirerack.com they are 95 dollars a peice these I have had the best out of I once spent like 130 dollars per tire on a set before and they cupped in like 6 months it was terrible these I have had very good luck on.

When I was considering purchasing a mustang, I didn't know what I was getting into. I had no clue that the car would need 10" width tires.

I have only driven a D-50 truck and a Pontiac Bonneville in the past. I also currently drive a '99 Honda as an everyday car. I don't think I ever paid $100 or more for tires which explains why I am gagging over $100 per tire.[:'(]

I just want regular tires. I am driving a 97 GT convertible and the tire size is 245/45ZR17. I have no need for performance tires because I am not racing [sm=innoc.gif]. At least I am not planning on it NOW. LOL!!

A lot of people have recommended tirerack.com and I have checked them out. I believe the shipping is free for the tires.

I have a question about my car's riding performance. I am not sure if this is my imagination or not. Currently when driving it, I feel everything on the road right through the floorboards. Is this sensation from the need of new tires or is it a suspension problem? My husband says it's just the type of car. I think he's wrong. I think it's the need for new tires
-- all four of them. I have been told the brakes are ok.

Well make sure your tires are H rated or above because that is what your vehicle requires. The ride could be because of the low profiles you will feel every nick and bump in the road if you think your shocks are bad push down on the back and if it bounces more then 1 or 2 times or makes a noise it is time to replace them same fro the struts in the front but usually the strut mount bushings go out before the struts do. I would probably replace the shocks anyways if they are the stock because they dont last as long as aftermarket shocks you can pick up some Bilstien shocks if you want top quality or you can get some sensatracs at sears auto for like 27 bucks a peice and sometimes they will install them for free and they have a lifetime warranty. But on the tires the Sumitomo HTR+ are awsome all seasons tires for the price with a 40,000 mile warranty those or the Falken 512's those are decent but I would put the Sumitomo's HTR+ on there they are awsome and not as expensive as any other tire. They are ZR Rated high performance tires but you will pay the same price for any H rated tire so might as well.
