Meziere Electric Water Pump?

RE: Meziere Electric Water Pump?
My only issue with this set up comes from the fact that the electric water pump is going to require the same amount of energy to pump the water as the belt driven pump did. It seems logical to me that you have to make the alternator work harder to keep the battery at the same charge (with the new waterpump now draining it) and so the amount of drag evens out. If the electric pump can operate on the amount of energy that the stock alternator is supporting than would't just underdriving your alternator give you the same effect for alot less money?

dont know, ever taken your belt off at the track? See much of a difference? The meziere pumps are nice, especially the one with the "dead idler."
My friend has one on his 383 firebird and it runs cooler then the stock pump or a moroso system and that other brand csi or whatever...
Lots of money for a pump if it doesnt produce power though

idn electric water pumps seem kinda shady to me, and 17hp from that seems kinda off too. to an electric water pump is juss another repair waiting to happen. there more involved and u cant really rely in them. ive seen a lot of them not pump water after a week of having it becomes of a bad connections, or a faulty water wiring system in the pump. tahts some thing that i wood never give up to gain a couple extra horses unless my car was a true drag car, but even if it was a true drag car i woodnt even run a water pump of a radiotor, id keep it air cooled

id go under drives instead of electric pump if you want hp that way. youll get about 10hp and your still running a mechanical pump. and 17hp from and electrical water pump..i dont think so. the water pump doesnt rob you of that much power
