302 crate motor questions
I looked again and the letter F is definately an F. However the more I look at it the 7 is probably a 1. So that would make it F1SE. Well, I am now wondering if $600 is not such a great deal after all if it has been sitting around for that long..
OK, I removed the Intake and took a bunch of pics. Too much to post here so I made a page. Looks like a roller. There was also some tags with dates, can y'all decode them?

Why did they put that yellow stuff on the Ditrib. gear? Also, Can anyone tell me about the heads?
Thanks a bunch!

Yeah, that's a roller block. In the lifter valley though there should have been a spider spring that bolts to the 2 threaded holes in the valley that holds the lifter link bars down, PLEASE tell me you took it off? If not then you have to get one before you run that engine, or you're gonna have a dead engine. F1SE is a 90's roller block, F1 is 91, SE was used in Thunderbird coupes and some Explorers I think. I didn't see what you were talking about on the dizzy gear(didn't see the pic) but if it's a grease it's prolly assembly lube of some sort
