Thought I would ask if anyone has ever installed stock GT mufflers on a V6 2005-2007 with dual exhaust...how does it sound....and perform...I had just Installed a JBA system shorty headers with stock cats into an H pipe2.5 straight out to a set of JBA mufflers. when Ideling and low RPM they sound fine, but when you get on it at WOT they sound like s**t sort of like the sport compact cars....not what Im looking for.....I just want the deep lowtone of the GT. Any insite on this would greatly be appreciated...

 

not to burst your bubble but its never gonna sound like a GT. you can make it sounda little closer to it with things like a camshaft and whatever else, but with the money youll spend doing that you could junkyard a 4.6.

i would suggest browsing around for some sound clips of peoples v6's and find an exhaust combothat maybe sounds close to what your wanting. gt catback wont make it sound like a gt just cuz its got the mufflers, aftermarkets would probably sound better anyways.

 

Thanks for the input...I know it will never sound like the GT with only a V6 Im just looking for a little deeper sound that the dual gives you...Its just the JBA mufflers sound like hell on WOT. Maybe the GT mufflers will hold up through out the RPM range...and not break up....

this is a very common mod on the 2005+ v6's. Go over to the 4.0 section in the 2005-2008 section. This question has been asked many times.
