Being 3 quarts low on oil kinda cancels out any clutch or transmission problems doesnt it? Sounds like some engine problems. If the noise is coming from the engine i would drain the oil and see if you get any small metal pieces, if not fill the oil and make sure you have oil pressure. You should of noticed your oil pressure low before this happened. Hope you find the problem, let us know.

I think my buddy and I have narrowed it down to throwout bearing or pilot bearing. Looks like a new clutch with a throwout bearing will fix it. As far as the oil...I really think that Jiffy Lube didn't put in the correct amount to start with. I've hearing some bad things about these drive-thu lube places. I think I will be doing my own oil from now on.[&:]

Thank you all for your help. Looks like grabbem88 was right on this one. We have pinned it down to a blown clutch.....throw out bearing and/or pilot bearing. SOOOO, new King Cobra clutch for me.

Yeah you might as well, while youre in there. I personally didnt replace it. No need to, i put a smack of blue tranmission grease on it and spun it a bunch of times. But i dont know if youre having someone else do this. But since i do all my own work, if it goes bad i'll yank the tranny and put a new one in.

my centerforce clutch blew all to hell and made similar noises, I put a King Cobra in it and its all good now. Mine wouldnt move after it broke though cause the disc was in pieces and the pressure plate fingers were bent, if its clutch related it must be the pilot or throwout bearing if its still moving. Good Luck

See if there is oil on the frame of your car. Take pictures. If no oil leak apparent sounds like Jiffy Lube did not put the correct amount of oil in your car and owes you a new engine...if that is what the problem is. if needed, contact an attorney.
