After changing my oil on my 1966 mustang coupe 289, I checked the oil, only to have the whole tube come off. I immediately put it back into where I pulled it from and turned it clockwise as if to tighten it. It seemed to tighten up, however, I don't want to mess with it too much. Right now, oil isn't leaking and everything seems normal. How are the dipstick tubes installed on these? What should I do? Thanks

chances are it just slides in there and theres prob a oring somewhere on the bottom keepingti sealed up.. prob just popped out.. make sure its in good and u should be ok... but if it keeps happening...get a new one

Lol my car did the same thing, I just stuck it back in and hold the tube when I pull the dipstick out
